The Team

Sam
Co-Founder/Executive Director

Sam started her equine journey when she was just 10 years old at a summer camp where she learned the basics of horsemanship. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and if she wasn’t at school or asleep you would probably find her at the barn. Sam got her first horse when she was 13. He was an off the track thoroughbred named Blaze. She has been involved in the horse industry ever since.

Sam graduated in 2016 with a BS in Equine Veterinary Technology. She started working as an equine vet tech, and eventually made a transfer to small animal medicine a while later, working as a vet tech for the Connecticut Humane Society for about 2 years. Beyond the stables and kennels, Sam radiates a genuine compassion for all creatures, embodying a commitment to welfare that extends far beyond the barn doors. Sam continued on to attend UCONN’s CEIN accelerated BSN program and ultimately graduated with her nursing degree in 2020.

Sam has always enjoyed rescuing animals and somehow always ends up with the most needy ones of all (emotionally and medically). Luckily that’s right up her alley! There is nothing she enjoys more than taking care of those in need. When she is not at work as a full time RN in the hospital, she enjoys competing in barn hunt with her rescue dog Sawyer, and cuddling with her rescue cat Aphrodite.

Danielle
Co-Founder/Operations Manager

Danielle’s equine experience began at the young age of 6, and she owned her first horse by 9. She prides herself on being a dedicated animal advocate and environmental enthusiast, and has led a life deeply intertwined with her passion for creatures great and small.

During her college years, she dedicated herself to volunteer work at Ever After Mustang Rescue (a sanctuary committed to rescuing and rehabilitating BLM mustangs to re-home them) and also at a non-profit animal rehab called Center for Wildlife. Before settling in Nashville, Danielle honed her skills and compassion for animals while working at a renowned emergency animal hospital in New England. There, she not only continued to expand her expertise to encompass various species but also developed an understanding of the complexities of animal care. In her personal life, Danielle’s love for animals extends beyond her professional and academic pursuits. She enjoys spending time with her rescue dog Ivy and going for long hikes in the woods.

Danielle graduated in 2020 with a 4 year degree in Environmental Science from The University of New England.

Dylan
Maintenance Manager

Dylan’s passion for animals cultivated from a young age, having grown up surrounded by family animals. He developed a deep sense of compassion and responsibility towards them. This upbringing instilled in him a strong commitment to animal welfare that continues to drive his work today.

Dylan’s journey into the world of animal welfare continued during his college years when he volunteered at an animal rescue. His love for dogs led him to spend time every week walking and caring for them, understanding the importance of their well-being firsthand. Dylan honed his knowledge at a local farm supply store, where he rose to the position of store manager. His experience in overseeing operations and ensuring customer satisfaction equipped him with valuable leadership abilities. In his free time, Dylan enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and watching football.

Dylan graduated from Presentation College with a Bachelors degree in criminal justice.

Nick
Business Manager

Nick brings a passion for animals and a talent for organization to his role as Business Manager at Mules N More. With a background in operations management and process improvement, Nick ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of our rescue efforts.

When he’s not coordinating fundraising events or overseeing logistics, you’ll find Nicholas connecting with the animals that inspire his work every day. Whether it’s organizing care for our rescued mules or finding creative ways to support the farm, Nicholas is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.

Ivy & Sawyer
Rodent Patrol

Danielle adopted Ivy from an animal shelter when she was 6 months old. Shortly after, she began having seizures and needs to be maintained on daily medications. Ivy has had double TPLO surgeries but that does not slow her down! Sam rescued Sawyer off of Facebook after he was dumped on someone’s property. He was hit by a UPS truck and was in recovery for 6 months. He came out on the other side only missing a few toes! Ivy and Sawyer volunteer their time at Mules N More to help keep our farm rodent free and protect our animals from danger.
