Leadership & Operations
Samantha
Executive Director
Samantha oversees rescue operations, partnerships, and long-term sanctuary planning. She coordinates intakes, adoptions, and community outreach.
Full ProfileSam started her equine journey when she was just 10 years old at a summer camp. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and if she wasn’t at school or asleep you would probably find her at the barn. Sam was gifted her first horse when she was just 13. Blaze was an off the track Thoroughbred, and throughout his life he always had some kind of medical issue going on. Sam found it deeply frustrating as a child to be unable to understand what was happening to her best friend. He developed her passion into a lifestyle over their 14 years together. If you know Sam, you know that she dedicated her whole life to taking care of Blaze, even to the point where she chose a medical career path to help him as much as she could. She lost Blaze in 2021 to a stroke, but he left a never ending impact on her life. Now that he is passed on, she honors his memory by continuing to use her education and passion to make a difference in other lives that need it.
Sam graduated in 2016 with a BS in Equine Veterinary Technology. She worked as an licensed equine vet tech, and made a transfer to small animal medicine a while later working as a vet tech for the Connecticut Humane Society and various vet clinics. Sam continued on to attend UCONN’s CEIN accelerated BSN program and ultimately graduated with her nursing degree in 2020. She relocated to the Nashville area in 2021, and has been working as an RN in the hospital since. She stays very busy during her time off by running the rescue, and taking care of her 2 rescue dogs and cat, Sawyer, Bowie, and Aphrodite.
Danielle
Operations Manager
Danielle runs day-to-day scheduling, volunteer coordination, and supply logistics to keep care consistent.
Full ProfileDanielle’s equine experience began at the young age of 6, and she owned her first horse by 9. She prides herself on being a dedicated animal advocate and environmental enthusiast, and has led a life deeply intertwined with her passion for creatures great and small.
During her college years, she dedicated herself to volunteer work at Ever After Mustang Rescue (a sanctuary committed to rescuing and rehabilitating BLM mustangs to re-home them) and also at a non-profit animal rehab called Center for Wildlife. Before settling in Nashville, Danielle honed her skills and compassion for animals while working at a renowned emergency animal hospital in New England. There, she not only continued to expand her expertise to encompass various species but also developed an understanding of the complexities of animal care. In her personal life, Danielle’s love for animals extends beyond her professional and academic pursuits. She enjoys spending time with her rescue dog Ivy and going for long hikes in the woods.
Danielle graduated in 2020 with a 4 year degree in Environmental Science from The University of New England.
