Jason

Mule, gelding, est. 20 years old
Bonded pair with Curtis- must be adopted together

Jason

Jason and Curtis came to us in June 2025 as an owner surrender. They are getting older and need to find a retirement/pleasure type home.

Jason is an estimated 20 year old, 15 hand gelding mule. He may be smaller than Curtis, but he is the leader of the 2. Out in the pasture, Jason is like a big puppy dog who doesn’t know his size. He loves to rub his head on you and come as close as possible for some love. He will follow you around and beg for butt scratches. He would gladly hang out with you all day.

All these boys have ever done is work. They are broke to ride, pull, or pack TOGETHER. They do not like being apart and have worked side by side for their whole lives. For this reason, they will be adopted out as a bonded pair. Curtis and Jason are eager to get down to business when they know work is coming. They anticipate being tacked or harnessed up and are ancy until they get to work. Once working, they are level headed mules who KNOW what their jobs are. They will need an adopter who has ADVANCED WORKING MULE EXPERIENCE. Jason is the more forward of the 2, requiring an advanced rider who can give him clear direction of what they want him to do.

These boys thrive with a consistent routine and confident clear leadership. These boys are BIG and they need someone who can establish boundaries with them while still offering them a gentle home. They are stubborn and will test you, but once they know you’re the boss their amazing personalities really start to come out.

Please check out Curtis’ bio to learn more about him!

Sanctuary Residents

Benji

Mule, Gelding, Est. 30+ yrs old

Benji

Benji has been with us since April of 2020. He was found to have severe osteoarthritis in both hind legs, as well as multiple severely damaged leg tendons that would require lifelong management to keep him as comfortable as possible. He can never be ridden or even sat on after his years of serving as an amish plow mule.

Due to the severity of his conditions and his age, Benji became our first permanent Mules N More Sanctuary Resident. He will live out his days with us, getting the daily care, medications, and supplements from our team that he needs.

Benji’s favorite activity is getting groomed and he loves treats!!

Ernie

Spotted Swine mix, Male, 4 years old

Ernie

Ernie joined Mules N More in July 2024. Since his arrival, he’s been incredibly fearful of people and is still slowly learning to trust us. At some point in his past, Ernie suffered a back injury that didn’t heal properly and now requires daily medication to manage arthritic pain. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to move Ernie into our sanctuary program, where he can live out his life in a safe, loving environment tailored to his needs.

Blossom

Mule, Mare, Est. 9 years old

Blossom

Blossom joined Mules N More in March 2024. We do not know much about her history, but we do know she was previously owned by the Amish before coming to us. Blossom has an eye injury which we believe was caused by physical abuse (due to the nature of the injury).

The trauma from her injury has left her terrified of people. We’ve spent countless hours trying to help her heal, but it’s clear that what she needs most is peace and safety. She’s formed a bond with Sam and Danielle, and we know in our hearts that moving her to our sanctuary program is the right choice. It’s where she’ll be surrounded by love, treated with gentleness, and able to live her life in peace.

BLOSSOM’S CARE IS FULLY SPONSORED BY CO-FOUNDERS Sam AND Danielle

Remembering Those No Longer With Us

In a Blaze O Glory

Thoroughbred, Gelding, 19 years old
4/11/2002 – 06/20/2021

Blaze

To our sweet boy, Blaze
“…..when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together….”
Until we meet again, thank you for all the memories and for laying the foundation for our dreams to come true. Thank you for being my best friend for 15 years.
We love you always, Sam and Danielle ❤️

Little Bit

Mini Pony, Mare, Age unknown
Unknown – 11/8/2024

Little Bit

We are so happy that Little Bit got a taste of warm shelter, love, and had some food in her belly when she passed. Even though we only got to know you for a short 3 days, your memory lives on in our hearts. Run free, eat until you’re fat, and enjoy having vision again in heaven little one 💕

Magic

Katahdin mix sheep, Male, 1 month old
12/16/2024 – 1/15/2025

Magic

Magic 8 ball came to us from a breeding farm as a failure to thrive case. Although he initially improved for the 1 week we had him, he continued to have uncontrollable seizures. He was humanely euthanized. A necropsy showed that he had advanced meningitis and his prognosis would have been very poor. We miss our little Magic Man every day, and it was an honor to give him the best week of his life.
